Pink Siifu first caught my ear when he dropped Ensley back in 2018, landing in Pitchfork’s Best Rap Albums of the Year. He has been consistently dropping dope projects over the years. Cincinatti born, Birmingham raised, Siifu style is a one of a kind experience. The neo-soul of the rap scene, reminiscent of Slum Village and Little Brother, with a dash of Andre 3000. Pink Siifu provides listeners with a laid-back flow, akin to spoken word that’s atuned with the instrumental. Siifu brings something unique to the rap space, going against the grain and challenging the norm with an old soul and an innovative style of music. The collabrative projects he has done with Fly Anakin are definitely some I definitely suggest listening to; FlySiifu’s (2020) and $mokebreak (2021).
